On 18–19 May 2026, the HIT-GLIO consortium gathered in Marseille, France, to review scientific progress and shape the next phase of the project. Hosted by our partner Professor Ling Peng from CNRS, the meeting brought together representatives of most consortium partners, including CNRS, the Nencki Institute, Tel Aviv University, the University of Oxford, Sanquine, Genexplain and ISS.
The two-day meeting provided a valuable opportunity for researchers to meet in person, exchange expertise and further strengthen collaboration across the consortium. Partners reviewed progress across the project’s work packages, presented updates on ongoing preclinical and experimental studies, and discussed priorities for the coming months.
The meeting also offered an open forum for in-depth scientific exchange, allowing research teams to share their latest findings, address challenges and further harmonise their approaches. Particular attention was given to methodological standardisation and the integration of data generated by the different partner laboratories. Close coordination between the research teams is essential for combining complex biological, molecular and imaging data, as well as ensuring that results obtained across the consortium can be effectively compared and interpreted.
Through detailed discussions and the exchange of expertise, the partners further aligned their research activities and established key priorities for the continued development of HIT-GLIO. The Marseille meeting highlighted both the strength of the consortium’s international partnership and the importance of close scientific collaboration in advancing the project’s objectives.
