The second annual meeting of the EU Cancer Mission’s Understanding Tumour-Host Interactions Cluster (U-THI-Cluster) took place on 23 March 2026 at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, Polish Academy of Sciences, in Warsaw. Organised by the HIT-GLIO project in a hybrid format, the meeting brought together representatives from all six U-THI-Cluster projects, the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), the European Commission (EC), Understanding Cancer Connect (UNCAN-Connect), and CANDLE, an EU-funded project establishing national cancer data nodes to support cancer research and data sharing.
The U-THI-Cluster is a collaborative initiative bringing together six EU-funded research projects: ARTURO, GLIOMATCH, HIT-GLIO, MULTIR, SPACETIME, and THRIVE to strengthen scientific collaborations, support evidence-based policy development, and contribute to improved outcomes for people affected by cancer.
Over the past year, the Cluster has evolved from the initial coordination to the active collaboration, achieving significant progress in data management, scientific exchange, communication and dissemination, research and innovation, addressing inequalities, and citizen and patient engagement.
